SLAY (“SLAY,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a mobile application designed for cheerleading and dance coaches, choreographers, and athletes (the “App”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the App.
By creating an account and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you are a parent or guardian of a user under 18, you may use the App only with the consent arrangement described in the “Children’s Privacy” section below.

Athletic performance data (skill levels, jump and tumbling abilities, execution scores, body position skills, and similar fitness data) may be collected and tied to an auto-generated, non-identifying identifier (for example, “SLAY-A1B2C3”). Real names and email addresses are never required for athletes under 18 and are only stored when an adult athlete or a parent/guardian explicitly opts in. Aggregate scores and ranks may be displayed publicly, but individual identifying information is kept private unless the athlete (or their guardian) chooses otherwise.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited ways:
SLAY uses third-party AI services to power several features. Before any data is sent, the app shows a feature-specific consent prompt that identifies what data is being shared, which provider it is sent to, and the purpose, and requires your explicit permission to proceed. You may decline and still use all non-AI features of the app.

What is sent: Depending on the feature, this may include the text you enter (creative briefs, squad details, chat messages, coach notes), reference video URLs, and uploaded performance videos. Videos may contain visual information including faces and bodies (see “Face Data” below).
How it is sent: Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections to the provider’s API. SLAY does not store a separate copy of your data on the AI provider’s servers — the provider processes the request and returns a result.
Provider protections: Each AI provider processes data under its own privacy policy and security standards, which provide protections comparable to industry standards for confidential data processing. We select providers that do not use your data to train their general-purpose AI models. Links to each provider’s privacy policy are available on their respective websites.
Your choice: Consent is requested per AI feature and stored on your device. You can revoke consent at any time by clearing app data; AI features will then be disabled until you consent again.
Some SLAY features allow you to upload performance or skill videos. These videos may contain visual information including athletes’ faces and bodies. We do notcollect, store, or process biometric face templates, facial recognition data, or any data used to identify or verify a person’s identity.
What face data is collected: Visual information that may incidentally include faces is present only within uploaded performance videos. We do not extract, scan, or analyze faces for identification purposes. The AI analyzes athletic performance (motions, jumps, tumbling, stunts, dance) — not facial identity.
Use: Videos are sent to the AI provider named in the consent prompt (typically Google Gemini) solely to analyze athletic technique, generate execution scores, and produce coaching feedback. Face data is never used to identify individuals, create face profiles, or train external AI models.
Sharing: Videos are shared only with the AI provider shown in the consent prompt, over an encrypted connection. We do not share videos with any other third party for face-related processing.
Storage: Uploaded videos are stored in SLAY’s secure cloud storage (associated with your account) so you can view your past sessions. The AI provider retains the data only for the duration needed to process your request, per its own retention policy.
Retention: Videos remain in your account until you delete them or delete your account. When you delete a video or your account, the associated video data is removed from SLAY storage. Data held by the AI provider is governed by that provider’s retention policy.
Deletion: You can delete individual videos from the relevant feature screen at any time, or delete your entire account (Profile → Delete My Account) to remove all your data from SLAY.
Children: For athletes under 18, videos are uploaded by or with the consent of a parent or guardian. No face-based identification is performed on any user, regardless of age.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Delete My Account), which triggers removal of your personal data across your content tables and deletion of your user record. Certain anonymized, aggregated, or residual data may be retained for analytics and product improvement where it can no longer identify you.
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. Access to your personal information is restricted to authorized personnel and is governed by role-based permissions.

The App is designed with COPPA and Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines in mind. For users under 13, accounts are intended to be created and managed by a parent or guardian, and no personal data (name, email, contact) is collected from the child. Athletes under 18 use anonymous identifiers by default, and any optional personal information requires verifiable parental or guardian consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information without consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
The App may connect to external content (such as YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram) for reference and educational purposes. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external services, and their use is governed by their own privacy policies.
If you are a California resident, you have the rights described above plus the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
If you access the App from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the U.S. By using the App, you consent to such transfer and processing.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App. Your continued use after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
